Growing up, I rarely had the “experience” to deal with the violent situations I found myself in. I didn’t venture out to find trouble, nor did I pick fights. I was more like the mousey kid you see in movies that attracts the bullies. Thus, I got hurt…a lot.

But I survived.

What I learned over time, was that the way I thought, the way I believed, not my physical abilities, made the biggest difference. Not that being fit, or strong, or properly trained isn’t important–it’s critical, but having the right mental attitude and knowledge alone can save your life. That’s not a guess on my part, but personal testimony.

Reading “How To Protect Yourself By Developing A Fighter’s Mind Set” is a great tool for the survival toolbox! I particularly appreciated the personal stories Alain shared, to show application, while providing a serious, no BS list for self-assessment. Being aware of yourself, and being HONEST about that awareness has saved my life more than once.

This book provides a fantastic foundation for making some critical choices NOW…so you don’t have to later. Mr. Burrese has my utmost respect for bringing up the “cost” of having to harm another human being. This is rarely discussed in detail and again, an aspect I can attest to.
I highly recommend this material to those who want to take their safety and the safety of their loved ones seriously.
