The Warrior’s Choice – November 2012

“An important part of discovering your warrior’s edge is assuming responsibility. Warriors know they alone are responsible for every moment of their lives, for every one of their acts.” – Alain Burrese

Welcome to the November, 2012, edition of Your Warrior’s Edge news.  Please enjoy, and remember I’m here to serve you, so please let me know your thoughts and concerns and how I can better do that.

TWO CHOICES – THE WARRIORS CHOICE

I remember Jim Rohn teaching that each of us has two distinct choices to make about what we will do with our lives.  We can choose to be less than we have the capacity to be.  To train less.  To have less.  To read less and think less.  To love less.  To share less.  To try less and discipline ourselves less.

These choices lead to an empty life.  These are not the choices a person living with the Warrior’s Edge makes.  Making these choices lead to a life of constant apprehension rather than a life of wondrous anticipation.

The second choice?  This is the warrior’s choice.  To do it all!  Living with the Warrior’s Edge means we become all that we can be.  We read every book we possibly can.  We earn as much as we possibly can.  We give and share as much as we possibly can.  We love as much as we can.  We strive and produce and accomplish as much as we possibly can.  We train and we teach as much as we can.  We protect and help others as much as we possibly can.

All of us have the choice.  To do or not to do.  To be or not to be.  To be all or to be less or to be nothing at all.  To be warriors or to be sheep.  To live with the Warrior’s Edge or to live meekly as life passes by.

Warriors seek worthy challenges to stretch upward and outward to the full measure of our capabilities.  Why not do all that we can, every moment that we can, the best that we can, for a long as we can?  That’s the warrior’s way.  Our ultimate life objective should be to live, create, love, and share to the very best of our abilities.  To settle for doing less than we can do is to fail in the worthiest of undertakings.

Results are the best measurement of our progress.  Not talk.  Not explanation.  Certainly not excuses.  Not justification.  Results are what matter.  And if our results are less than our potential, as warriors we must strive to become more today than we were the day before.  Jim Rohn also taught that the greatest rewards are always reserved for those who bring great value to themselves and the world around them as a result of who and what they have become.  This is what discovering your Warrior’s Edge is all about.  Discovering your dedication, your determination, and your discipline to become your very best and to live life to the fullest.

“A warrior is a man of action, guided by reason and motivated by love.”

– Jack Hoban, as quoted in “Martial Virtues”

Loren W.
