This book covers ALL the essential elements needed to survive any hostile situation ! The concepts are easy to understand, especially for anyone who has actually “been there.” For those who have never been in a “blood & snot confrontation,” the concepts presented in this book may not seem quite so essential. Winning in the street is 90 % mental ! Only a handful of Martial Art’s Author’s have addressed the mental aspect of fighting. Alain has done an excellent job at presenting the most important aspects of developing a warrior mindset. I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in advancing their self-protection skills!

Any martial arts school in the world offers “self-defense” classes, and most of them overlook the most important aspects of the very subject they claim to be teaching. This book clearly and concisely offers the most important elements to personal safety. Everything about the mindset, from the awareness of what is happening (and with it the ability to avoid altogether those situations where violence may occur), to help in understanding the importance of being decisive, to being vicious when all else has failed, this book has so much to offer to both martial arts practitioners and those who are interested in being safe but don’t have any interest in training in the martial arts. I enjoyed reading this one and give it my highest recommendation.

The book is full of great ideas and examples upon which to build a curriculum for teaching self-defense. It would be helpful to those also who have limited knowledge and who might be considering taking the training.
