Alain Burrese teaches a Hapkido class at Ridge Fitness, Missoula, Montana, on Tuesday and Thursday nights. The class runs from 8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
This class is taught as Hapkido is taught in South Korea, and Alain follows the Korea Hapkido Federation curriculum that he learned while living and training in South Korea.
Additionally, Alain will bring other martial art principles, concepts and techniques that he has learned from others to his classes to provide a well-rounded, interesting, and unique program of instruction for his students.
The classes have an open enrolment, which means beginners can start at any time. Alain believes in letting beginners jump right in and experience what Hapkido is all about, and will have them doing a variety of things on the first day.
The goals for Alain’s classes are for each individual to have fun and learn a traditional martial art, as taught in the country of its origin, with a focus on self-defense. Respect toward others and safe training are always paramount. Alain wants his students to be able to protect themselves if necessary, but also to develop themselves as better people through the study and discipline of a traditional martial art. These classes are not geared toward sport or competition.
Anyone interested in trying a class is welcome to come to Ridge Fitness on any Tuesday or Thursday at 8:00 p.m. For additional information, you can contact Alain through this website or stop by at the beginning or end of any class to ask Alain questions in person. Observing classes is fine, as long as it is done respectfully.
To try a class, please wear comfortable clothing such as sweat pants and a t-shirt. We ask that all jewelry be removed for your and your training partner’s safety.
